Piedmont’s Witter Field – Proposed Use Changes
To reduce reported noise and traffic problems caused by unauthorized adult use of Witter Field on Sundays, the District is developing a proposal for authorized Sunday use of Witter Field in the fall and spring for Under-14 soccer games. Community sports groups have offered to provide volunteers to monitor the field and will pay fees to the school for authorized use. School District efforts to monitor the field have been unsuccessful in stopping unauthorized organized use. Unauthorized use has prevented informal community use and resulted in no fees to the school for field wear and tear. Neighbors will be noticed and the proposal voted on at a future regular Board meeting.
