Piedmont School Superintendent Hubbard Message

A reassuring message to the community from Piedmont Unified School District Superintendent concerning assault which occurred on school property.

“Currently, the Piedmont Police Department is investigating allegations that, on Sunday, May 22 on Witter Field, a 17-year-old female was assaulted by a Piedmont resident who has worked as a substitute employee of the District. I want to stress to our entire school community that this matter has my full attention, and that my priority is to continue to ensure that students and community members are safe and secure on all District sites, including Witter Field.  I am also committed to protecting the privacy interests of the teen and adult directly involved in the investigation.  I understand that information about the allegations and police investigation is deeply concerning to our parents, staff and students.  However, I must stress that until the investigation is complete, we are dealing with allegations.

The District intends to cooperate fully with the Piedmont Police Department as the investigation proceeds.   Please help the District assist the Police Department by not complicating the process with rumors or misstatements. Thank you for your cooperation. If you have questions or concerns contact the Superintendent’s office at chubbard@piedmont.k12.ca.us or 510-594-2614.”
