Important Council Decisions at September 19 Meeting

Parcel Tax Election, Increased Sewer Surcharges, Kehilla Use Permit, Calvert Court Street Resurfacing, Solar Power Program

On Monday, September 19, at 7:30 pm in City Hall, the City Council will consider:

 

  • a 50% municipal sewer surtax effective July 1, 2012 (Decision on a significant increase in the sewer tax over 10 years.)
  • renewal of the municipal services tax effective July 1, 2013 (Decision on placement of a municipal parcel tax on the February 2012 ballot.)
  • Conditional Use Permit (CUP) Compliance at Kehilla Community Synagogue (Discussion on unauthorized use of their adjacent parking lot.)
  • Award of Calvert Court Street Resurfacing Project (Priority street repaving for $113,160, with an overall project budget of $139,486 for Calvert Court.)

On the Consent calendar, the Council will consider:  Approval of a cooperative agreement with the Cities of El Cerrito, Albany, and San Pablo to jointly solicit proposals for the procurement of municipal solar power.
