  1. I would like to see Council candidates address the following questions:

    1. What do you think are the three most pressing issues the City of Piedmont will have to face during the four years of the Council term you are running for? Or alternatively: Where would you place fiscal and budget issues among Council priorities during the coming four years?

    2. How would you personally demonstrate leadership and initiative in addressing fiscal/budget issues if you are elected to the Council, especially during the next 6 to 12 months?

    3. If you are elected, which of the MTRC recommendations would you intend to pursue to completion before the next parcel tax election?

    4. Are there MTRC recommendations that you will not support; if so, which ones?

    5. Do you believe the City has undertaken adequate multi-year budget planning with the aim of preserving the city’s fiscal strength and the quality of city services? If so, please provide specific examples.

    6. What are your views on the comparative staffing levels between the Piedmont and Albany fire departments? If you do not have settled views, please describe your commitment to pursue the question by means of an independent, objective study to determine if there are possible savings to Piedmont without risking the quality of service.

  2. How would you respond to and possibly implement the policy recommendations in the League of Women Voters Undergrounding Task Force report?
