Find Out What The Candidates Think

“Meet the Candidates Night” on January 12

The League of Women Voters of Piedmont will host a candidates forum on Thursday, January 12, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council chambers of Piedmont City Hall.  The community is invited to meet the candidates running for Piedmont City Council and Board of Education.

Attendees will also have a chance to learn about Measure A, the sewer tax measure  appearing on the February 7, 2012 municipal election ballot.

All of the candidates running for office have accepted the invitation to participate: Margaret Fujioka (incumbent), Bob McBain, and Tim Rood are running for two seats on the Piedmont City Council; Nancy “Sunny” Bostrom, Jon Elliott, Sarah Pearson, Richard Raushenbush (incumbent), and Andrea Swenson are running for three spots on the Board of Education. The candidates will present opening and closing remarks and respond to questions from the audience.

Michael Rancer, Chair of the Municipal Tax Review Committee, will provide an overview of Measure A, the special municipal sewer surtax.  Dale Marshall will serve as the evening’s moderator.  Those unable to attend may view a simulcast of the event on KCOM-TV, channel 27.
