Report on School District Superintendent Search
School Board Holds Planning Workshop
The school board met at the district office Thursday, December 18, 2014 with Bill Levinson and Barbara Young from HYA. Also in attendance were Sandy Spiker representing the superintendent’s office and Elise Marks, a PHS teacher.
Discussion covered the calendar and components of the search process. Dates for community meetings, national advertising, solicitation of inputs from the community on characteristics of the new superintendent, interview schedules and individual board responsibilities to support the process were agreed upon. Support groups and community organizations for HYA meetings were identified.
A complete schedule will follow shortly. A page has been added to the PUSD Website for updates and more information on the search process, and the Board will be actively communicating through community news outlets throughout the process.
There have begun to be announcements from districts across the state and the country signaling the start to the annual superintendent search season. With the search announcement last month, it is hoped the district will be out in front of the best available candidate pool early. Watch for updates and consult your calendars for opportunities to participate in this critical choice.
